Webinar Details

We are pleased to extend an invitation to our upcoming educational class on WILDFIRE risk. This class is thoughtfully curated to provide valuable insights to enhance your expertise in the field.

Wildfire is one of the least understood perils, but has one of the greatest potentials for loss, and is thus one of the most difficult to underwrite.  Russell Crooks of AXA/XL will provide you with a background on wildfire and will help you understand the importance of construction type in a wildfire.  Additionally, you will learn about the importance of fire protection and other elements of loss prevention, including critical information for underwriting wildfire risks.  Jared Greisman of Kennedys will address commonly occurring first party property coverage issues that arise during wildfire events including damage to structures – fire damage and soot, business income related issues including restrictions on access to property, utility interruption and claims handling issues.

Russell Crooks is currently Regional Vice President, Western Zone for AXA/XL, based in Walnut Creek.  Russell started his career in 1989 in Inland Marine and has held various leadership positions throughout the past 15 years.  His extensive experience in Property and Construction has allowed him to develop a strong understanding of the issues surrounding wildfire.

Jared Greisman is a partner with Kennedys and leads its US based first party property practice. He counsels insurers on insurance coverage, claim adjustment, and contract interpretation on hundreds of first-party property and commercial losses following hurricanes, wildfires, hailstorms, civil unrest and other catastrophes across numerous industries including high-rise buildings and apartment complexes, public works and infrastructure, hotels, real estate developments, country clubs, wineries, hospitals and condominium associations.
